2022 - Present

Program Director

As the Program Director of ICAN Radio, Sarah has been instrumental in shaping the network’s creative vision, ensuring high-quality children's programming. She curates and oversees the network’s 24/7 audio content, acquiring rights to renowned children's programs such as Winnie-the-Pooh, What If World, and Who Smarted?. Sarah has spearheaded ICAN’s original productions, including the Audio Book Tour, ICAN Presents: ScreenShot, Abby’s Celtic Corner, and ICAN Become. She has expanded ICAN’s impact through podcast distribution, program creation, and after-school audio interview programs in Portland public schools. Through her leadership, ICAN continues to inspire child development and creativity in audio storytelling.

2018 - 2022

ICAN Program Manager, Announcer, and Producer

During her tenure as Program Manager, Host & Producer, Sarah was responsible for developing creative children’s programming tailored for ages 0-9. She played a pivotal role in shaping the station’s strategic scheduling, ensuring compliance with FCC and licensing regulations. Her work included producing, recording, editing, and hosting both on-air and pre-recorded content. She collaborated closely with All Classical Portland hosts, interns, and youth reporters, fostering a network of creative talent. Her efforts in implementing best practices for web streaming and youth-focused content positioned ICAN as a leader in children's radio.

2016 - 2018

Audio Producer | Relevant Tones & WFMT Radio Network

As a Producer for Relevant Tones, Sarah contributed to the program’s recognition with the 2017 ASCAP Deems-Taylor Award. She made history as the first American in 25 years to serve on the International Rostrum of Composers panel in 2017, where her submission, Madhye II, ranked among the top ten compositions globally. She coordinated and interviewed world-renowned composers, including Joan Tower and Philip Glass, and enhanced the show’s storytelling by advising and coaching its host. Additionally, she created a social media presence for the program and developed a production internship program to mentor upcoming talent.

2012 - 2016

Production Coordinator | WFMT Radio Network

Beginning her career as a Production Coordinator, Sarah played a crucial role in strengthening WFMT’s operations and creative processes. She founded the “Pitch Incubator”, a safe space for brainstorming new ideas and improving program quality. She facilitated master classes on audio editing techniques and trained colleagues in studio recordings and technical operations. Her responsibilities included quality control for syndicated programming, establishing ISDN and Comrex connections, and managing audio distribution through PRX. She also provided technical support to the WFMT staff, reinforcing the station’s operational efficiency.
